It was honestly heartbreaking watching Chelsea lose yet another final at Wembley, especially after the fight and determination the team showed against Manchester City. Going toe-to-toe with one of the best sides in the world gave me hope that maybe this could finally be our moment again. But football can be cruel sometimes.

The match was intense right from start to finish, with both teams battling hard for every ball. Chelsea did not look like a side sitting ninth in the Premier League. The players showed hunger, energy, and resilience, matching Manchester City in many moments of the game. That is why the defeat hurts so much because we were not completely outplayed.
The biggest talking point for me was the referee’s decision to not award Chelsea a penalty. I still believe there was clear contact, and on another day, that decision could have changed the entire game. Finals are usually decided by very little moments, and unfortunately, that moment did not go in our favor. But still, it is what it is. Complaining about it now will not change anything.
The decisive moment came in the second half when Antoine Semenyo scored the winning goal for Manchester City after connecting with an Erling Haaland cross and flick the ball past Sanchez. It was a quality finish, and credit must be given to City for taking their chance when it reat mattered most. That goal secured a 1-0 victory and handed Manchester City their eighth FA Cup title as well as their second trophy of the season after winning carling cup against Arsenal.
What makes this defeat even more painful is the bigger picture surrounding Chelsea stance right now. Before this final, the last time Chelsea won at Wembley was back in 2018 when we defeated Manchester United to lift the FA Cup. Since then, Wembley has become a place of disappointment rather than celebration for Chelsea fans.
And to even make matters worse, this loss also confirms that Chelsea will not be playing European football come next season after finishing ninth in the league. No trophies. No Europe. Just another season filled with frustration and unanswered questions.
But despite everything, I still believe better days will come for this club, especially when the issues of getting new coach is sorted out. Supporting Chelsea has never been about only celebrating trophies. But it is about standing with the team through both the highs and the painful lows. Right now, all we can do is hope this disappointment becomes the beginning of a stronger comeback next season with Xabi Alonso coming as the new coach at Chelsea.
