"Disabled" people are starting to show the world that "disability does not mean inability". Growing up with a disability, my goal has always been... if others think I can't do it, I do it anyway!! If fear strikes me I do it anyway!! Because my disability does not define me!
From the time I was a child I was told by peers and teachers that I would not accomplish much. One teacher actually told me "Zach, the chances of you doi much are very small.. you are better off just ping to a trade school."
What?
See here is where I draw the line. I have never been mad about my hand, heck I am never even mad when people ask about m hand. I love to share my story, in hopes I can motivate someone! BUT don't ever tell me I CAN'T do something! Because I will either prove you wrong or die trying!
I look at my hand and I know there are people out there that has it worse off, thy are accomplishing things I could never dream of accomplishing! That s what pushes me! It pushes me to the extreme! I have climbed mountains, done crossfit, I can type over 100 words a minute. I can play guitar, and so much more!
If anyone ever tells you.. you can't do something because of who you are. Stop them in the tracks smile and say "you wanna bet.. better take a seat. I am about to take you to school!" :)
You are the only one that can determine what you can and can not do! I suggest you put in your mind that you can do anything!! ANYTHING! You are alive and breathing!! Stop sitting around and move!
God Bless and have a great week! :)
