Eight days ago I made a post about me being given dominion over and diving into a new garden space at The Sanctuary of the Blue Dragon(fly) in Seaview (Lower Puna, Big Island, Hawaiʻi), a new community space with bubbling potential, where I've been experimenting living part of the time (on hiatus from my off-grid, food-forest jungle community). I've been here since the twelfth of this month, and in that time I've been feeling into the land and plants, assessing projects, and slowly unfolding them. 
We made a path through one of the beds, to increase ease of movement through the garden, and put logs on the borders of the surrounding beds.
We moved a yellow-flowered form of Mexican treedaisy (Montanoa hibiscifolia) from one of the garden beds to the border of the property, to act as a visibility screen, where it would be far more useful. It looks sad at the moment, but don't worry, these buggers are tough as nails!
We planted a lemon tree in its place.
The project that I described in this post gets an update with the planting of plantain (Plantago major), two varieties of kale, two varieties of parsley, and a butternut lettuce on the planting mound, around the Mamaki (Pipturus albidus) planted in the center of the mound.
I've also begun to collect and organize all the potted plants on the property, dumping and mixing soil from dead plants, up-potting plants in need of room, planting some in the garden, as well as beginning to propagate new plants.
This is the next project; to make a new planting bed at the base of this Ohia (Metrosideros polymorpha), another endemic Hawaiian tree, where there are now just weeds (all plants are valuable and useful, just not in the positions that they choose to grow).
