This shopping spree is directly linked to my goals from the previous season. Specifically, during the last season, I had two objectives: first, to earn enough Glint to purchase two Legendary Draws; and second, to spend any Glint earned in excess of those two Legendary Draws on purchasing Common or Rare Draws by the end of the season. As it turned out, I earned approximately 150k Glint last season; of that, 140k was spent solely on acquiring the two Legendary Draws. The remaining 10k had gone unused until now; however, after adding some of this season's earnings to it, the total balance reached nearly 35k. Consequently, I decided to purchase 10 Common Draws today, spending a total of 3,000 Glint at a rate of 300 Glint per draw.
Just before this shopping spree, I also checked my Alchemy Potions; at that time, I had only seven left. Consequently, I purchased three more Alchemy Potions, as I intended to utilize them while opening these draws. However—despite having used hundreds of Alchemy Potions to date—I have yet to obtain a single Gold Card. This is because the probability of acquiring a Gold Card in Common Draws is typically a mere 0.5%; while the use of Alchemy Potions doubles this chance to 1%, 1% remains an extremely low figure where success depends entirely on sheer luck. So, technically speaking, one cannot really harbor any concrete expectation of obtaining a Gold Card; yet, if by some stroke of luck you do manage to get one, it feels just like hitting the jackpot. Thus, even with full knowledge of my results so far, I still decided to try my luck at finding a Gold Foil Card.
I thought that by opening 10 draws simultaneously, my chances of winning might increase; however, once again, I didn't receive any Gold cards, and the cards I did get were all quite basic. Nevertheless, I do use some of these quite frequently. For instance, the Water Element's Surgeblade and the Life Element's Palimpsest Prophet are excellent picks in battle; their combination of melee attack power and the Charge ability grants me the freedom to place them anywhere in my lineup—and, knock on wood, their performance is consistently strong. Additionally, the Earth Element's magic attack card, Stonebind Matron, is my go-to choice when I need to prioritize speed. For a basic card, its speed is remarkably high, and when combined with its magic attack power, it deals significant damage to the enemy. The Death Element's Thornmaw Berserker is another fantastic card; I already possess it at Level 2, which unlocks the Final Rest ability. This ability blocks the enemy's Rebirth, Resurrect, Resurgence, and Soul Siphon powers once per game. This ability can prove to be a major headache for the opponent on the battlefield; however, this card has one drawback: it lacks the Charge ability, meaning you cannot place it anywhere other than the frontline. All in all, regarding these results, I chose to focus on the "glass half full" perspective. I remain hopeful that, in the future, I will succeed in extracting even better cards than these.
Splinterlands isn't an easy place, but that's what makes it even more fun. A perfect strategy takes into account many factors, including stats, abilities, rulesets, mana caps, and more.
