Reuters today reports of a court ruling from California that Starbucks, Mcdonalds, Dunkin Donuts and others must put cancer warnings on their coffee products due to them containing potentially dangerous levels of Acrylamide, a compound used in industrial processes and that has been recently found to appear in cooked french fries and other food products. I am certainly not any kind of expert on this subject, so I don't have much to add on the chemistry, except that I find it interesting that the coffee has been identified as a potential cause of cancer due to this compound, yet it appears in other foods too which contain no warning.
Superior Court Judge Elihu Berle said in a proposed decision Wednesday that Starbucks and other companies had failed to show that the threat from a chemical compound produced when roasting coffee was insignificant, court documents showed.
Starbucks and other plaintiffs in the case have until April 10 to file objections.
Officials from Starbucks Corp (SBUX.O), McDonald’s Corp (MCD.N), Dunkin’ Donuts (DNKN.O) and Peet’s did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
The California-based Council for Education and Research on Toxics sued Starbucks and other companies on grounds they failed to provide warnings to consumers that the coffee they sold contained high levels of acrylamide, a toxic and carcinogenic chemical, court documents showed.

I have had this photo for years, which is also from California, so it appears that Mcdonalds is no stranger to being forced to inform it's customers that they might be being killed by the fast food and creepy clown based enterprise..

When a company is forced to tell you that their 'food' might be killing you - in a world where a vast amount of what is sold as food is well known to be killing you, yet no warnings are issued about them.. It might be wise to take notice.
Wholefoods, unprocessed, raw and as organic and fresh as possible (as nature intended) are, in my experience, the most healthy sources of nutrition on Earth and this is hardly surprising since the entire universe is an intelligence that given a chance will look after itself in many ways - we only need to stop trying to so hard to survive by paying the corporations for things that we mostly have difficulty acquiring for free because the same corporations are buying up all the resources that we need to produce things for free - naturally.
