I don't honestly understand Steemit so much, but I've had a bit of a browse around and everyone seems pretty nice so I thought I'd give it a try.
I run an IT consulting company in Melbourne, Australia where I set people up so they can contract to companies for particular projects (instead of being a permanent employee) so I get to meet lots of interesting people... and I love finding out how different businesses work.
I've also run a photography studio in Melbourne, that helps new models, make up artists, stylists and retouchers get the experience they need to create a portfolio.... portfolios are still very necessary for creatives to get work in the industry.
On the nerdier side... I love AFL, Fantasy Football, and have been in hugely competitive leagues for over a decade and comics. I have thousands of comics.
My very favourite has always been The Phantom which is the longest running comic book series in the world. I actually got my first Phantom comic book as a kid in a showbag from the Royal Melbourne show... and that started the crazy obsessive collector in me.
My second favourite is The Flash particularly the Mark Waid (he's an amazing writer) era with Wally West as The Flash. I'm not a particular DC v Marvel fanboy one way or the other, true be told I'd probably pick Frank Miller (Sin City, 300) over either company... but I do have to say that as a comics fanboy all my life... it is incredible to see all these characters on the big and little screen. I've loved all of Marvel's movies and their Netflix series... and am really happy with The Flash and Supergirl on CW. As a longtime fan, I get super excited when The Flash nods back to the 90s series or various comics. I honestly believe the writers of The Flash TV show are as longtime fans as I am.
I know this isn't super manly, but I'm just getting into Crypto Kitties which is how I found out about Steemit. I've got 13 kitties so far and am very much looking forward to creating my own army of Dracula kitties. I've purchased two but have yet to successfully breed my own.
I'm also super intrigued by CryptoFighters - I really hope it's good because I could get so into this in a big way.
Even if you're not super interested, they'll be giving away Gen 0 Fighters when they launch, and I will full on buy a Gen 0 fighter from you if you win one. I've love it if 5 people could enter the lottery for a Gen 0 fighter using my referral code (https://wn.nr/Lr2dMm ) - it would mean a lot.
Lastly, I've got a project going that I really enjoy, bringing my love of photography and comics together to create Urban Gladiators:
Basically two people face off against each other in citiies around the world and use social media to determine the winner (like the Gladitorial games of the Roman Empire where crowds could influence the outcome)... once the winner is determined then I release the full fight on the comic. It's a lot of fun to create, and everyone involved has loved it... and depending on the social-media savviness of the fighters, I've gotten thousands of votes... but it hasn't quite taken off like I hoped so I'm hoping maybe Steem can give it a broader audience.
I'm hoping to make a lot of friends on this platform... I'm really keen to share my photography work and I'll be looking to introduce a lot of my creative friends to this platform. I'll be talking photos, comics, games, bikes and whatever comes up.
