Good day wonderful people of the indiaunited community, this is actually my first post on these blog, I actually went through this community and I thought it was mainly for Indians but as I went through the community I discovered it was not only for Indians and I felt delighted to write here on this awesome community.
I have benefitted so much from various act of kindness and I am also an agent of kindness to many people. I grew to believe that no act of kindness is too small, in the world today a simple act of kindness goes a long way to transforming people, it has the power to bring people together and it fosters unity amongst people.
My mum often tells me “never forget to be kind to people no matter how cruel they may be” kindness has the transformative power to change people, you can simply change people by being kind to them despite how bad they may seem to be.
In my school last semester, I felt so inspired at what my senior colleagues did, the Director of Welfare of the Student Union group together with the University of Uyo Medical Student Association embarked on a Food Rescue Mission. This act of kindness helped me to realize that as humans we ought to extend our generosity to people out there in the community who need our help.
In the world today where hunger is prevailing and food is scarce, they saw the need to extend their hands of charity and generosity to the needy, this act motivated me a lot and has made me to have a dream of carrying on a food rescue mission which I will do.
The major aim of this mission was to reach out to the needy, share a meal and to make them smile. This mission started like something that would not prevail but after so much deliberation what we thought will not work went well. We discovered that there were so many hungry people on the street and they were also many people who wasted food instead of giving it out to people who need it the most.
After that mission, I felt relieved, it rekindled my hope, it changed my whole perspective and I began to think about people who are in need, watching the children on the street eating and smiling gave me joy.
This is my response to the Indiaunited contest on ACT OF KINDNESS
