After my class from 1 to 4 in the afternoon, my friends and I decided to go to McDo. We still had another class at 7, and instead of going home and coming back, we thought it was better to stay somewhere to pass the time. At first, I wanted to stick to my plan of saving money, but when they invited me, I agreed. I also felt that I needed a little break.
When we entered McDo, the smell of fries filled the air, and I immediately felt hungry. The place was crowded but full of energy. Families were eating, kids were laughing, and students like us were chatting away. It gave me a feeling of comfort, like I was in a place where everyone just wanted to enjoy food and time together. Seeing my friends already smiling and excited made me happy that I joined them.
This time, I didn’t order a full meal. I just bought fries and a McFlurry. It was simple, but it was exactly what I wanted. The fries were hot and salty, and the ice cream was sweet and cold. Eating them together felt like the perfect combo.
As soon as I sat down with my food, the stories and laughter started. We teased each other, shared random updates, and even joked about how we should have been saving money instead of spending it here.
I remembered my promise to save, but honestly, I didn’t feel bad anymore. Yes, I spent a little, but I gained so much happiness. The joy of being with friends, eating fries, and enjoying ice cream together was worth it. These small moments are things I will remember later on, even if the money I tried to keep won’t.
Time passed faster than I expected. We shared food, laughed loudly, and forgot that we were just waiting for our next class. At one point, we were even counting how many times one of us went back to the counter to order more. It was funny and lighthearted, and it made me realize how much I enjoy being with them.
The busy sounds of McDo mixed with our laughter made the place feel alive. Even though it was just a fast-food restaurant, it felt like our little spot to recharge. Waiting for three hours before class didn’t feel long anymore. Instead of feeling bored and tired, we turned the waiting time into a memory filled with fun.
When we finally finished eating, I felt full, relaxed, and happy. I may not have saved money that day, but I gained something better time with my friends and simple joy. Walking out of McDo, I realized that sometimes it’s okay to spend a little as long as it gives you happiness. Waiting for our 7 pm class didn’t feel like a chore anymore. It became a moment I will look back on with a smile.
