14-time Grand Slam Champion and former World No. 1 Novak Djokovic of Serbia has dethroned Rafael Nadal of Spain to become the new No. 1 ranked male tennis player in the world! By doing so, Novak has become only the second player in history to be ranked outside of Top 20 earlier in an year but still managing to reach the No. 1 ranking during the year!
Novak has already been World No. 1 for 223 weeks in his career and this new reign will see him break the 250+ weeks at No. 1 mark assuming he keeps playing the way he has been playing for the past four months.
Novak is also looking good to end the year as the World No. 1 for a record 5th time in career, by doing so he will equal Switzerland's Roger Federer in most year-end No. 1 finishes.
This week, in Paris, Novak will be looking to win his 33rd Masters 1000 title which will be an all-time record if he manages to take home the title this Sunday at the Paris Masters.
