Think that what if FB gets its own crypto and starts giving tokens for likes and shares, and also for viewing adds?
What you guys think would happen to steem, which still majority of the population doesnt know about?
Mark has been known to steal ideas, and with the kind of power and money and followers he has, he wont take time taking over the crypto. Even though we know his cruel intensions, majority of the world population still follows him and looks up to him.
Some of his comments:
“A lot of us got into technology because we believe it can be a decentralizing force that puts more power in people’s hands.”
“I’m interested to go deeper and study the positive and negative aspects of these technologies, and how best to use them in our services”
“Facebook, with over 2 billion monthly active users, can basically drive the mass adoption of anything”
Even though Steem is built as social media platform and nothing gets deleted or remove, still majority here are for one thing, that's "Money".
Even though iv been on and off lately, but its been a really long time since iv been on steemit. I still see same topics making 100z of dollars, where as some really good content gets next to nothing views. Not here to put down anyone, i know alot of them are putting alot of effort in building this community, but this platform is following the same foot steps of FB.
Whales supporting Whales and their friends, Hot chicks posing and makes 100z, top trending posts are most of the times of programmers or famous youtubers especially alt. media, etc. Its just like FB supporting the elites. Steemit is not about proper wealth distrubution anymore.
Even though EOS is a bigger project then Steemit, did Dan Larimer leave steemit as he knows whats coming? When everyone here is for the money, and not good content creation, is it that once FB announces its own crypto, and starts giving money for likes shares and adds to the members, will steemit survive? Unless given a fair chance to everyone and blocking some similar post?
"Remember" all these Alternate media guys are still there on FB and YouTube, even though they say they hate it. Everyone including myself is here for making money (me as a side income and enjoy writing and reading).
I see people flagging good content and content thats really just a "Happy New Year" wishing gets 100s-1000z of $$ is really unfair. We have to pay bots to resteem and upvote in order to gain something. In chat when we talk about this issue, all we hear is "Oh, he/she is complaining" or "You need to develop your own audience" etc. How do we develovp our own audience when "Trending" & "New" Pages have only posts of programmers, or some chick just posing or crypto or some famous alternate media youtuber or crypto. The only few lucky ones are the people who joined steemit at the begining and have turned into whales now.
The best way to end this is to remove all the trending, new, hot, promoted catagories. Keep only the catagories that are on the left. Alot of people that way can get better views and a good distribution of wealth too. No flagging, no bots, no excessive power, as everyone here is giving something to the community, especially time.
Alot of them might be interested in different types of things, like music, art, pets, animals, movies, cooking, hobbies, history, etc. everyone should get a fair chance.
Trust me on this, if FB comes with this concept, most of the member will shift there regardless of the bans, as they will still make big bucks. But if given a fair chance to everyone, and helping build this community without any partiality, and some control on no good for nothing apps like just a photo or a link sharing, will make steemit bigger then any FB or INSTA or YouTube.
"Let's give everyone a fair chance, remember this is a blogging network and not social network. Lets make it really social and involve everyone, and make a stronger fair community"
