I come out of the water and sit in the sun. There is some commotion on the other side. Let's see...
A guy has a fish on the hook. Right here, right at this moment. I walk down to the shore to see it up close.
After a few minutes of struggle the guy pulls 20/22 lbs monster carp out of the lake.
And nets it.
But what is he doing now?
He carefully puts iodine on carps wound.
Gently picks it up for a photo.
…and then releases the monster.
As the carp swims away, I dumbfoundedly ask him what did he just do?
He answers that he always lets the fish go free.
Most of us would kill the carp right there, prepare it on the grill, and eat it by the lake. Some of us would sell it for a profit, but this guy lives by different standards. He prefers to torture a fish for a while, apply some medicine and then lets it go so he can catch it again. The wonders of sport fishing! :D
But, we are also free to observe this event from a completely different angle, of course.
Let me find some shade for a few minutes before I ride on...
Life is what you make it!
