One of the attractions, where the guests of the city of St. Petersburg lead, and the locals do not mind to go, are the fountains of Peterhof. In general, as I understood, there is a little confusion. It is commonly believed that Peterhof is a fountain, and fountains are Peterhof. This is not quite true. In fact, Peterhof is a municipal entity of St. Petersburg. There is an informal division into the Old and New Peterhof, the fountains are in New Peterhof.
There are quite a lot of fountains in the park, probably about two dozen major ones, and some more small ones.
After entering the lower park, visitors immediately get to the site in front of the palace, from its middle can be seen the "Great Cascade" and the sea channel that flows into the bay.
Descending the stairs from the area near the palace, you can admire the "Samson", it is most often depicted on all the paraphernalia associated with this park
Near it is the fountain "Cup", which is also visible from the site near the palace.
I really like the park "Peterhof", I consider it very beautiful, even chic, I am always happy to come there and advise everyone.
