el año pasado, a mediados de Julio, tuve mi graduación en medio de la pandemia por el covid-19 por este motivo mi graduación no fue solemne, solo fue la entrega de la medalla y el titulo, les cuento por todo lo que tuve que pasar para al fin poder recibir mi titulo como Medico Veterinario.

Last year, in mid-July, I had my graduation in the midst of the covid-19 pandemic, for this reason my graduation was not solemn, it was just the delivery of the medal and the title, I tell you about everything I had to pass to finally be able to receive my degree as a Veterinary Doctor.

Yo debía graduarme hace dos años con mis compañeros de la sección pero mi amiga y compañera de tesis y yo no pudimos porque cuando comenzó la pandemia se nos hizo complicado poder viajar y asistir a las clases de tesis y poder defender, luego de que al fin pudimos defender nuestra tesis, comenzamos todos los protocolos y los papeleos que se debían hacer para optar al grado.

I was supposed to graduate two years ago with my classmates from the section but my friend and thesis classmate and I couldn't because when the pandemic started it made it difficult for us to be able to travel and attend the thesis classes and be able to defend, after finally we were able to defend our thesis, we began all the protocols and paperwork that had to be done to qualify for the degree.

Al principio el mini acto que nos harían porque como les comenté no se podía hacer acto solemne por la pandemia, lo iban a realizar en la entrada del rectorado de la universidad, yo estudie en la UNELLEZ de Barinas, Venezuela, por un convenio de la universidad de Coro llamada Francisco de Miranda, gracias a Dios uno de mis compañeros que era el encargado de todo, peleo para que se hiciera en el auditorio de la universidad, aunque no era un acto solemne al menos sería allí en ese lugar donde se llevan a cabo todos los actos, al principio nos iban a dejar entrar con la toga y el birrete pero cuando llegaron las personas encargadas de traer los títulos de la otra universidad y los que nos lo entregarían, dijeron que no, así que solo podíamos entrar con las bufandas amarillas y la medalla porque nos la habían entregado cuando comenzamos a ensayar, nuestros familiares solo podían entrar y ver el momento de la entrega del titulo porque la medalla y la firma del acta la hicimos cuando ensayamos.

At first, the mini act that they would do to us because, as I told you, a solemn act could not be done due to the pandemic, they were going to do it at the entrance of the university rectorate, I studied at the UNELLEZ in Barinas, Venezuela, by an agreement of the University Choir called Francisco de Miranda, thank God one of my colleagues who was in charge of everything, fought for it to be held in the university auditorium, although it was not a solemn act, at least it would be there in that place where they take all the acts were carried out, at first they were going to let us enter with the cap and gown but when the people in charge of bringing the degrees from the other university and those who would deliver them to us arrived, they said no, so we could only enter with the yellow scarves and the medal because they had given it to us when we started rehearsing, our relatives could only enter and see the moment of awarding the title because we did the medal and the signing of the minutes when we rehearsed you.

En Venezuela graduarse no es nada económico, había que pagar muchas cosas, el sonido, la toga y el birrete, el paquete de grado de la universidad que son unos papeles más la medalla, el porta título, la bufanda, aparte de eso tuvimos que pagarle el traslado a las personas que venían de Coro hasta Barinas, eso más gasolina, había que pagarle también al señor de las fotos, los arreglos, muchas cosas que al sacar la cuenta son casi 300 dólares por persona con todo lo que se tuvo que gastar, graduarse en Venezuela no es fácil y en pandemia menos, pero le doy gracias a Dios porque pude hacerlo, con mucho sacrificio lo pude lograr, por supuesto teniendo el apoyo de mi familia y amigos que siempre han estado conmigo, fueron momentos lindos y experiencias que siempre tendré guardadas tanto en mi mente como en el corazón.

In Venezuela, graduating is not cheap at all, you had to pay many things, the sound, the cap and gown, the university degree package which is some papers plus the medal, the title holder, the scarf, apart from that we had to pay for the transportation of the people who came from Coro to Barinas, that plus gasoline, you also had to pay the man in the photos, the arrangements, many things that when you get the bill are almost 300 dollars per person with everything that had to be paid spending, graduating in Venezuela is not easy and less so in a pandemic, but I thank God because I was able to do it, with a lot of sacrifice I was able to achieve it, of course having the support of my family and friends who have always been with me, they were beautiful moments and experiences that I will always have stored both in my mind and in my heart.
