Hello dear friends of Hive and specifically of #Silverbloggers, I'm very happy to participate in this week's topic because it brings back some great memories. To be completely honest with you, I didn't have any pets during my childhood, except for a little dog that I remember my dad had, but I don't have many memories of that time, or of the dog itself. But the one I do remember perfectly well is Jou, my German Shepherd. I adopted him when I was about 18 or 19 years old.
Hola queridos amigos de Hive y especificamente de #Silverbloggers, hoy me complace mucho participar en el tema de esta semana porque me trae muy buenos recuerdos. Para ser completamente franco con ustedes yo no tuve mascotas durante mi infancia, salvo una perrita que recerdo que tenía papá, pero no conservo muchos recuerdos de esa epoca, ni del animalitoen sí, pero al que sí recuerdo perfectamente bien es a Jou, mi pastor alemán. A él lo adopté cuando yo tenía ya unos 18 o 19 años de edad.
Jou was very nice, he had a very docile character and the strangest thing of all is that he respected the other animals that were in the house (ducks, chickens and rabbits) that Mom had in the yard, he never chased them or bothered them, he liked to sit next to me when I read the newspaper or a book, as a reminder that he was there for me, but the most surprising thing of all is that for some reason that I still cannot explain, he had a great sense of sensitivity for music.
Jou era muy agradable, tenía un carácter muy dócil y lo más raro de todo es que respetaba a los otros animales que había en la casa (patos, gallinas y conejos) que tenía mamá en el patio, nunca los correteaba ni los molestaba, le gustaba sentarse a mi lado cuando yo leía el periódico o algún libro, como un recordatorio de que estaba ahí para mi, pero lo más sorprendente de todo es que por alguna razón que todavía no me explico, él tenía un gran sentido de sensibilidad para la música.
My brother and I loved listening to Paraguayan folk music, but as soon as the first chords of a particular song called "El Pájaro Campana" (The Bellbird) began, Jou would run out and stop whatever he was doing. He'd stand in front of the record player, staring intently. Other times, he'd close his eyes and have a peaceful expression, clearly enjoying the music. As soon as the song finished, he'd leave. It was so amazing that sometimes my brother would do it to impress neighbors, friends, and other family members. He'd say, "You'll see what Jou does," and then he'd put the song on the record player, and people would watch as the dog listened attentively to his favorite song. That's one of the things I miss most about him, even to this day.
A mi hermano y a mi nos gustaba mucho escuchar música folklórica paraguaya, pero cuando apenas sonaban los primeros acordes de un tema en particular llamado “El Pájaro Campana”, Jou salía corriendo y dejaba de hacer lo que estuviese haciendo en ese momento, y luego se apostaba frente al tocadiscos mirándolo fijamente, otras veces cerraba los ojos y se le notaba una expresión plácida, claramente disfrutando de la música, y apenas terminaba de reproducirse el tema, él se marchaba, era algo tan sorprendente que a veces mi hermano lo hacía ara impresionar a vecinos, amigos y demás familiares, les decía: “Ya van a ver lo que hace Jou” entonces ponía la canción en el tocadiscos y la gente veía como el perro escuchaba atentamente su canción favorita. Esa es una de las cosas que más extraño de él todavía hasta el día de hoy.
Jou will always hold a special place in my heart; he'll always be a part of my life, not only because of his unique personality, but because he showed me love and loyalty like no other pet ever did. Well, I think that's all for today, but I'm truly happy to share this beautiful part of my youth with you. Blessings to all.
Jou siempre estará en un lugar especial en mi corazón, siempre formará parte de mi vida, no solo por su particular forma de ser, sino porque me demostró amor y lealtad como ninguna otra mascota lo hizo. Bueno, creo que esto ha sido todo por hoy pero de verdad me satisfizo compartir con ustedes esta parte tan bonita de mi juventud. Bendiciones a todos.
