I would like to talk today about " Patience".
Growing up as a kid, I was always told "patience is a virtue", and I am sure a lot of us were also told this, but how many of us, were truly thought how to be patient?.
From my point of view, I would say, patience is the act of enduring a certain kind of challenge, pain or obstacle for a certain period of time, and as a result, lack of patience leads to ill spoken words or even sudden actions without a second thought, that one could regret later.
Patience is not embedded in anyone from birth, but an attitude we learn or cultivate over time, and the act of patience is best taught from childhood, because learning this "skill" I'll call it, would help one thrive in areas of business, careers, sports, at the gym and so on, bearing in mind that life is a step at a time, there are ups and there are down times, but only the the act of patience can help one scale through bad times.
Let me tell you a short story, few years ago, I had a friend called 'Wesley', who is an orphan, and was dating a lady at the time, he loved her so much and did everything in his power to take care of her, after a while, he lost his job and things became really tight for him, and all his attempt to getting a job was futile. This got so bad that it was his girlfriend who even feeds him, he was down to nothing, but had hopes that someway, somehow, things will get better.
Before long, his girlfriend got tired of fending for him and decided to follow a very rich guy who has been asking her out for a while, he pleaded in tears for her to stay but she refused, and yes he was heart broken, and though he was poor he decided to press on.
So, after a short period of time, one of the proposals he submitted at a very big firm, was approved and he was awarded a contract of $2,000,000(dollars) and lots of other benefits, and he was so excited and even broke down in tears of joy.
Unfortunately the guy, Wesley' ex-girlfriend was dating, all of a sudden got arrested by the Feds, for defrauding the Government and was sent to years in prison.
She hears the news of Wesley's success, then ran back to him and pleaded he accepts her back, but unfortunately for her, Wesley was now married and his wife was pregnant at that time, and what he told his ex-girlfriend was, while he was then poor, he promised himself that If she remained and he becomes rich, he would give her the world, but sadly she wasn't patient enough to stay.
Now my point is sometimes, things may seem not to have an headway, but even a little bit of patience could help one through those trying times, and keep in mind that despite challenges and difficulties at some point in life, there is always light at the end of the tunnel.
CHEERS.
NEDERLANDSE VERSIE
Gejuich.
