Sony and Honda have formed a new company, "Sony Honda Mobility", to jointly develop electric cars. The first model, the Afeela, was unveiled at CES last year. This year, the car was shown in the form of a very close production version, which is expected to start production in 2025. During a presentation at CES 2024, Sony Honda Mobility President and CEO Izumi Kawanishi took the car to the stage by controlling it with a PS5 controller. Deliveries to the U.S. will begin in 2026 but later this year, it will be possible to drive the Afeela virtually in the new version of Gran Turismo 7. The real Afeela will be powered by two motors of 241 hp each, powered by a 91.0-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery with a charge of up to 150 kW.
