Steemit.com hat nun auch diese nervigen Datenschutz-Popups installiert, die man bei jeder Änderung akzeptieren muss, wenn man die Website weiterhin nutzen möchte, um der neuen EU-Regulierung zu entsprechen.
Es wird jedenfalls spannend, wie sich die EU-Datenschutzgrundverordnung (DSGVO) auf Blockchains auswirken wird bzw. ob die DSGVO überhaupt Blockchain-kompatibel ist, da Blockchains die Daten normalerweise zensurresistent und unwiderruflich speichern.
Der Angriffspunkt sind aber wie immer zentrale Services wie Exchanges, Online-Wallets oder zentrale Frontends wie Steemit.com, die man regulieren könnte. Steemit.com muss zum Beispiel Daten an Behörden weitergeben und könnte sogar auch einzelne Artikel ausblenden (zensurieren), wenn es verlangt wird, aber die Daten selbst würden trotzdem im verteilten Steem-Netzwerk gespeichert bleiben. Es wird spannend, wie sich das alles in Zukunft weiterentwickeln wird.

Steemit.com has now also installed these annoying privacy pop-ups that you have to accept, whenever there is an update to the privacy policy, if you want to continue to use the site in order to comply with the new EU privacy regulation.
In any case, it will be interesting to see how the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will affect blockchains or whether the GDPR is blockchain-compatible at all, since blockchains usually store the data in a censorship-resistant and immutable manner.
The point of attack, however, are as always central services such as exchanges, online wallets or front-ends like Steemit.com, which could be regulated in principle. Steemit.com, for example, has to pass data to authorities and could even hide (censor) individual articles if required, but the data itself would still be stored on the distributed Steem blockchain. It's interesting to see how this will play out in the future.
