Good day, fellow HIVE users from all around the world! For today's first post here on HIVE, I decided to write a bit about a very interesting theme/subject, more specifically the path of the lone wanderer. This post is autobiographical given the fact that I have been, for quite lengthy periods of time in my life, a lone wanderer myself... What does a lone wanderer mean? Someone who is walking his path in this world as independently as possible, taking responsibilities and care of himself both during normal times and in harsh ones.
The lone wanderer stands before his path, his destiny, and final destination. Deep down inside, he knows where he wants to go and where he wants his road to unfold and lead, certainly to a better final destination. But, he has to overcome a lot of challenges on his way... Image source: Pixabay
The great advantage of a lone wanderer is the fact that when no one seems to be on his side, he has gained a lot of power and insight to stand by himself, even in the most turbulent and violent of times. This is based on many years of self-reliance and self-help. In this process, one truly understands what it means to befriend oneself, in my humble opinion. It does also increase your chances of survival. The past 6 years or so for me, sometimes, felt like rough survival, be it abroad or in my home country. But with harsh life lessons, comes a lot of wisdom and powerful insight into the reality of life in a given time period.
Life's not easy, but it's beautiful and definitely worth living (sometimes at least). Harsh times create powerful, reliable, and strong characters. But I do not agree that easier times create weaker men. It is also a matter of perception in the end, from person to person, and I respect different points of view naturally. But mine is that easier times are also needed for rejuvenation and healing purposes. Sometimes you have to slow down, no matter how tough you think you are... Such is life. If you don't do it at your own will, you will eventually be forced by your body. Our bodies are smarter than us sometimes. They know their rights very well...
The path of the lone wanderer is filled with many hardships, obstacles, or challenges but also with opportunities. While the rewards are not very visible at first during this journey, I strongly think that as one matures they will become more and more in the grasp of the wanderer as he sets forth a good trajectory in life (that is one that stands on the pillars of self-education, self-reliance, responsibility, and help for others).
The lone wanderer is involved in worldly matters, even though he is walking his own path, but to limited extents. He is of service to others, but he understands that he must be of service to self first in order to be of good service to others afterwards (as much as possible, of course). The lone wanderer is not so aloft in his personal pursuits or quests as some might assume, but instead aims to improve and contribute in good faith what he can. Still, sometimes he has his (rightful) reserves... In these regards, he is in the world but not necessarily (part) of it. This is a great mentality to live by, I think. I am very grateful for having learned it some years ago.
The lone wanderer knows the world around him and his surroundings quite well, standing his ground as best as he can even in the most tumultuous times, while at the same time being part of compact groups of people for collaborative purposes in several areas of life (e.g. educational or professional).
Last but not least, the lone wanderer has endless possibilities by walking his own path (and being responsible for it) as opposed to a crowd of people who might walk a collective path that is wrongly directed by a corrupt leader. The lone wanderer is therefore bold and independent, always striving for better beginnings and peaceful ends. While his path being rocky at first, he does dispose of the necessary sturdiness to improve himself along the way, excel, and come forth in an evolved state at the end of his journey. Such is the path of the lone wanderer. Such has been the path of my life so far...
This might be one of the final destinations of the lone wanderer which represents a peaceful ending and a better beginning respectively. Image source: Pixabay
