Hurray! I booked my train ticket and can now officially say that my Steemit travel will start in a week. In 6 days, I will be in Berlin, Germany where I am invited by the lovely @Mayb
This is the continuation of I want to hear your story Part 1, 2 and 3 where I talked about my plan to visit fellow Steemians, listen to their stories and then share them with you through blogging and micro documentaries.
Yesterday afternoon, Meike (Mayb) and I had a one hour and fifteen minute Skype call. She actually proposed to record our conversation and use part of it for a teaser to this project
mayb - Last Saturday at 5:45 PM
or!
How about having a video call before. We could record it. Just in case. Maybe it's good material for a teaser or just some establisher shots … ?!
but in the end - technical difficulties made that impossible.
VincentNijman - Yesterday at 4:05 PM
I'm not ready to film but I can definitely chat in a bit
mayb - Yesterday at 4:06 PM
I can use a software for it
oh, wait …
VincentNijman - Yesterday at 4:06 PM
I mean, my camera isn't charged
a little later....
VincentNijman - Yesterday at 4:32 PM
with the mic plugged in I can't hear you
so I unplugged it
this would make for a fun first video
yes I do
hear you now
okay
let me try to add you
now I'm struggling with the new skype haha
After half an hour of technical difficulties - the story of my life - we finally managed to have a call via Skype. It was our second voice chat and - as was the case with our first conversation - it immediately felt very natural. I guess that is in a way how Meike is and how I am. Which doesn't mean that happens with everyone...
Long story short...
After almost eleven months in The Netherlands (since my return from El Hierro, Canary islands) and about 7 months on Steemit, I finally found a way to leave the country again. This time I will be mixing up filmmaking, traveling, networking (in the best way possible) and work. I can't wait to change gears and finally start doing something that I feel I was destined to do for a long time.
I like to take things step by step and let them grow organically but, if you have any ideas or contributions to this project, I'm always open for suggestions and a friendly chat. If you are on discord, I tend to hang around in the be awesome, humans of steemit or - at times - the PAL chat.
