A couple of days ago I went out in search of monarch butterflies migrating through North Central Texas.
I live in what is called The Central Flyway for monarchs.
The flowers in my yard are drying up due to our hot, dry September and October day, so knew I had to go searching elsewhere.
I was very happy to find 15-20 Monarchs nectaring on flowers at a big flower garden in a park near my house. Here are a few of the photos I took.
We are expecting some rain and a cold front to push through tonight.
The north wind should help send more monarchs our way and send these monarch beauties on toward Mexico where they overwinter.
In this last photo with the purple coneflowers, there is a painted lady butterfly on the right coneflower and a monarch on the left.
All photos taken on my Canon Power Shot by me .
Hope you are having a peaceful weekend!
