Second day of our training for our upcoming trip to conquer the majestic Mount Kinabalu later this year.
Today, my friend brought us to test our fitness and stamina at Bukit Botak (Bald Hill) in Sepanggar, Kota Kinabalu.
This is my first-time experience climbing to the top of the hill and after a terrible experience hiking at Padang Hill yesterday where I'd almost throw up and fainted, I expected this time it could be from worse to bad.
It was still hot when we reached the starting point. Lucky for me (and to the first-timer), it was windy even though the sun hits directly to us. At least, it helps. LOL 😆.
Not only that, I am lucky to have friends that are supportive despite knowing how bad I am at this. I did feel exhausted after 30 minutes climbing and I had to stopped a few times just to rest. Along the way, I've found a stick to help me the entire journey. Forty degrees inclining all the way up but with help and motivation, I'd finally reached to the top.
After taking some photos, we tried to stay and watched the sunsets but one of our friends suggested that we continued our hiking to another hill called Bukit Janggut (Beard Hill). As we preparing our descend, we realized it's already 5:30 pm and it is a bad idea to go for our next hiking since it's going to be dark soon. Going down the hill itself took us almost an hour because of the uneven terrain.
Well, this is definitely not my first time coming to this place. Till next time for my actifit updates.
