To celebrate this great goal the organizers have decided to visit all the Italian Regions and therefore also Sardinia. The first three stages were held here!
Me and my friends, MTB fans, obviously we could not miss this historic event, also because in the previous ninety-nine editions the Maglia Rosa (Pink Jersey) had traveled the island roads only three times (1961, 1991, 2007), in 2017 it was the fourth.
The morning of May 6 (second stage: Olbia - Tortolì, 208 km) we left for Genna Silana. Here you can find the routes of all Giro 2017.
We were 6 people, 3 did the road by bike and 3 others in the van.
The scenarios of this part of Sardinia are spectacular!
The GPM
People are coming
The cyclists are coming
... not yet but maybe ...
Oh... Here they are! Go go go! Pinkman where are you running away?? Look at that! And genius taking the selfie, come on!
Go go!
And finally peloton moves away
The Giro 2017 was then won by the Dutchman Tom Dumoulin.
This stage was won by German sprinter André Greipel.
But those were three very special days for all of Sardinia!
