You knew they were good. You knew they were dominant...
But, did you know that they are officially the most dominant playoff team in NBA history?
That's right.
After going 12-0, the Golden State Warriors became the first NBA team to go undefeated AND win 12 games in route to the NBA finals.
Several other teams have gone undefeated on their route to the finals, but they have never done it in the modern era where they have to win 12 games to do so.
The 2001 and 1989 Lakers also went undefeated on their trip to the finals but they "only" had to win 11 games to get there.
But wait, there's more...
Not only are the Warriors the only team to go 12-0 in route to the NBA Finals, but they have done so with the largest margin of victory as well.
Their average margin of victory has been 16.3 points, besting the 2001 Lakers previous record of 15.5 points.
So, not only have the Warriors been beating everyone, but they have been beating the living stuffing out of them.
Last season we saw them set the all time single season best record for wins.
This season we are seeing them set the all time playoff margin of victory record.
We are quite possibly witnessing the greatest team to ever play the game.
We are living in a great time to watch good basketball folks.
The NBA Finals don't start for at least a week, depending on how long the Celtics can stick around, but remember to truly enjoy the greatness we are watching whenever they do take the court again.
The Golden State Warriors are quite possibly the greatest team to ever lace em up.
