Uglavnom obilazim okolna sela do 20 kilometara.
Danas sam vozila do sela Kuštilj.
Even though the temperatures are high, I don't give up cycling. 😁
I mostly visit the surrounding villages up to 20 kilometers away. All these are good preparations for a long journey.
Given that I don't ride a bike professionally, I'm quite satisfied. 😊
Today I drove to the village of Kuštilj.
It is 15 kilometers from my town.
I started quite late so I had to hurry.
🌳🌻🌾
I had an hour and a half free time, so I drove as fast as I could.
In the beginning, everything smelled, and the landscapes changed in color and beauty. One moment you're driving a sunflower field, the next you're driving between cornfields and cottages, then you enter the forest. Fantastic!
🌳🌻🌾
A onda me je šokirao smrad i vatra.
🔥🔥🔥
And then I was shocked by the stench and the fire.
Namely, every year at this time after the harvest, there remains a cornfield that the farmers burn.
Why?
Although experts appeal that due to extremely high temperatures in recent years, they must not burn arable land because it can easily cause a fire, the peasants still burn because they have no money to plow the land and thus the land remains healthy. Also, one of the reasons is that the land is very dry due to high temperatures and lack of rain, so plowing is difficult, and the problem is that farmers do not have good machinery. It's expensive.
Idemo dalje. Prošla sam kroz dimne zavese i najzad nakon 15 km ušla u Kuštilj.
So the peasants decide to burn their homes.
First of all, burning looks ugly, smells, leaves soot and changes the structure of the soil on which the crops are sown.
Walking through fire and soot, I felt like I was in hell. 🫣🔥
Very unpleasant.
I also noticed beehives by the roadside that could have been ignited and destroyed by the fire. Unfortunately, people are not aware of how much damage they can cause besides fire.
But people are like that, imperfect.
Move on. I passed through the smoke curtains and finally entered Kuštilj after 15 km.
The village of Kuštilj is a little bigger than the villages I have already written about.
Kuštilj is a village that 10 years ago had about 850 inhabitants, and now that number has halved.
Children go to secondary schools in the city and do not return. Children are being born less and less.
I didn't take any photos because people are shy and told me not to take pictures. I didn't complain much because it was getting dark and I had to hurry back. The clouds surrounded me.
I was also in a hurry to a Rock festival that had already started.
I accelerated to the maximum.
Halfway through I took a picture so you could see how flushed I was! 🤪
Još nekoliko stotina metara. Samo još malo i stižem kući.
Uhvatio me je mrak.
A few hundred meters more. Just a little more and I'll be home.
I was overtaken by darkness.
Zadovoljna.
Skinula sam barem 2.000 kalorija!
😁🚴
My t-shirt was so wet that I could wring it out. Satisfied.
I lost at least 2,000 calories!
