We slept, hearts towards the moon as stars painted our faces.
The warm night breeze through leaf laden trees played melodies and soothed us into sleep.
Our spirits hushed, nearby waters rushed in hurry to the sea.
We slept as dead while in our heads the world swept by easy.
I would have slept on lazily
my heart at peace with you,
but in the morn our faces bore a glistening layer of dew.
