Lechón is a Spanish term which means suckling or unweaned pig. In the Philippines, it is generally termed as roasted whole pig or in layman's term, lechon baboy.
Lechón is common during national festivities likes fiestas and christmas or special occasions like birthdays and weedings. Even small get-togethers have lechón on the center of the table. Lechón is simply the highlight and the sought after dish during these events.
In Cebu, a celebration is somehow incomplete if lechon is not on the center of the table.
