Cebu is among the most develop provinces in the country. It the center of trade and commerce in the Visayas. Over the years, Cebu has transformed and progressed into a mega city. Aside from that, the province is also known famous for it waterfalls and beaches. From the south up to the northernmost tip of the province, jaw-breaking waterfalls and pristine beaches are what awaits you.
When in comes to culture and heritage, Cebu has kept and preserved much its history. Colonial houses and century-old churches are among the best of what Cebu can offer.
As a history buff myself, it's a sense of fulfillment and an opportunity to bask and wonder into the history, origin and the cultural heritage that the Cebuanos are upholding up to this day.
On this series, I will take you back in time into some of Cebu's well-kept treasures. First stop, Argao.
Argao is a beautiful town which offers a lot of heritage sites and natural attractions. The town got its name from a mangrove tree, named Sali-Argaw, which are abundant in its coastal areas. The San Miguel Archangel Church is the prominent and notable structure in Argao. In the town’s plaza, we will also get to see the old Town Hall as well as other heritage structures.
See some of my Argao photos below.
