So back to today. It's been a busy day in the Hive account@splinterlands and I've been busy battling away.

TODAY'S REWARD SPLINTER: EARTH

I'm glad I drew the earth splinter, it gave me a chance to give my new lvl 4 LYANNA NATURA a run out. Saying that, although she's now lvl4 and I can play higher monster cards, I don't actually have any higher cards than I did when she was lvl3.... Hahahaha

I find myself playing in the GOLD leagues and lately ive been playing against some of the "bigger boys". Now, I've always believed that Hive account@steemmonsters, as you climb higher through the leagues, has been more about strategy than brute force.

Take a look at this MATCH and you'll see far lower level monster can win when you pick the right combinations.

Don't be fooled by the points difference, I only have more points because I can "outplay" people, not their monsters..... OK, enough self-bragging, back to this blog.

Winning that match above (against the odds), not only meant I completed my DQ but actually pulled me over the threshold for GOLD I. GOLD I is where I usually finish the season and haven't made it in to the DIAMOND leagues for a very long time. I still play in hope that one day I'll break back in to the higher leagues.

Finishing the day in GOLD I meant that I picked up 8 reward cards:

Another LEGENDARY "ruler of the seas" to add to my collection.

Probably one of the most lethal cards in the lower leagues. Packs a heck of a punch and then gives the next card a hefty slap in the face with "blast". My RotS is at level 2, so he also gives +1 speed and that can make all the difference between striking first and winning matches.
