This is a great step for ride-sharing tech. It is already working in a decentralized way so why not use the blockchain. This would cut down of fees for both the driver and the passenger. You could pick someone up, it could register on the app and then release payment when you reach the agreed upon spot. It would be a great user case of a coin.
I remember a coin called arcade city that was suppose to compete with uber is the states but it never took off. And I think there was another that was being worked on. The tech would remove the middle man and let people trade among themselves. This kind of tech could work for a lot of companies and lead to a work where more profits are shared from the service provider and the ones who pay for the service.
And this is why we are heading to a future of a freelance economy. When more and more of these apps get released it will be easier to make a living on your own.
