Hello everyone! Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas
My today's post will introduce along with everyone, a very special and impressive place. Every time I look back at the pictures of this trip, it makes me want to share them again.
The time was 2015 when the US electronic newspaper HuffPost published an article with the title "Abandoned water park is not for timid hearts". After seeing the article and pictures of that abandoned water park, I was extremely interested in this place and it is a hot topic, attracting a lot of public opinion in the country. As far as I know, Thuy Tien water park is located in Thuy Bang commune, Huong Thuy Town, Thua Thien Hue province. Started and built in 2008 and was put into use in 2014. After more than a year of opening to welcome tourists. Then in 2015, due to the lack of operating funds, as well as this place not attracting tourists to visit, this place has been abandoned until nowadays.
This place is located about 100km from the center of Da Nang city, also very close to the place I live. So in 2016, I along with my friends planned to explore this place. The time when we came here was at the end of the year. The season when the weather is subject to heavy rains. Due to the influence of the cold northeast monsoon, after many delays to the trip due to the weather, our group did not continue with the plan of the trip and despite going, in a bad weather condition. We started the trip at 7 am, the road from Da Nang to Hue will take about 3 hours by motorbike. Many pass roads are quite dangerous. The rain was heavy, so it poured down on the road surface. The road is quite slippery, on every bend on Hai Van pass. I can see the tired expressions on the faces of each member during the trip. Because of bad weather conditions, we didn't arrive in Hue until around 11 am. We had lunch and rest, to regain our strength for the journey to explore this place.
Thuy Tien Water Park, located about 10km from the center of Hue city. From the center, we will follow the Dien Bien Phu road and enter the Minh Mang - Khai Dinh road. I will leave the map at the end of the article for those who want to explore this place. The water park is located on the daffodil road and is located at the foot of Thien An pine hill. When we got to the gate of the water park, it was blocked by a fence, a guard did not let us inside the park. Under the pretext of being a dangerous area, entry is not allowed. After talking with the guard for a while and knowing that we came here from Da Nang to visit, the security guard saw the difficulty we had experienced, so the guard accepted to let us inside.
After parking the bikes in the pine forest area, we started walking into the parking area. The road surface here is paved with ceramic tiles, over time without maintenance, the road here is very slippery. The main place of the water park is a house. There is a dragon that embraces this house. To get to the house, we will cross the bridge to get inside. When stepping into this house, due to being abandoned for a long time, the moss-covered the house, and the plaster ceilings, began to fall and lay on the floor. Inside the house, there is a staircase leading to the upper floors. It was pretty dark inside, so we used the phone's flash to light our way. Feeling very cold when entering this place, I saw the frightened faces of the girls on the trip. I reassured everyone that it was raining and we were wearing raincoats so our body temperature was cooler. When you reach the top floor, there will be the dragon's mouth. We can observe the surroundings of this place with the dragon's mouth facing out to the shore of Thuy Tien lake, this could be a great location to catch the sunrise. We took a souvenir photo at this place with Go-Pro. This photo is so impressive, it looks like we are being eaten by a dragon.
Inside the park, there will be two other locations, which is a large outdoor stage. After a period of abandonment, the chairs showed signs of cracking. Many trees are growing inside. I can see their intense vitality of them. Around this place began to grow trees mixed with this building. I thought we were exploring the city of Chernobyl. Continuing through another area, we found a fenced-in swimming pool. To sign is forbidden to enter, dangerous areas with crocodiles. In the article of the Huffpost newspaper, there was a photo with an alligator and the vigilance was not superfluous, when entering this place.
The last place we entered the park, is also the main area of the water park. Those are the slides and there are many pools here. The long-abandoned slides have begun to change color. With overgrown trees, both sides of the slide. Below the pool is the moss-covered in the water surface. The fish also appeared in this pool. Looking at the water surface I imagined when I would fall inside the lake and some crocodiles have been starved for a long time…. For most of this trip, the weather did not have a better sign. Raincoats seem to be the main suit of this trip. When we looked at the clock, it was 3 pm, we started going back to the parking area, to start going back to Da Nang. The road will be very long and difficult, but for us, this trip was an interesting trip and a lot of fun. It's been a long time, I haven't had a trip that can be as fun as that day. Despite the bad weather, we had a great time together.
If anyone is planning to come to Hue, besides visiting the mausoleum of the king and Hue citadel. I highly recommend the daffodil water park as an interesting place to explore and I am sure you will feel the feeling of fear with a wide range of emotions when you come here. The coordinates of this place are 16.407886, 107.578546 it will help you when you want to be here.
My article on exploring the abandoned water park has come to an end here. Thank you everyone for taking the time to read my post. Wishing everyone a beautiful weekend.
