For the past couple of years, I've made - and subsequently canceled - plans to purchase an array of tools to begin building up a woodworking shop in my garage. This year, it looks like it may finally happen. I've been designing different things in Sketchup for a while now and I finally get to dust them off and start working up my project cut lists. Due to the timing of finances, I won't know for sure when I'll get a chance to start any of these projects, but the goal is to knock out several of them before the end of 2021. As I work on each new project, I'll be sure to post them here. I have a lot to learn, and you'll get to learn with me!
To kick things off, I'll be building a simple set of shelves on the south wall of my garage to help with overall storage space in the house.
After that, I plan to build a decent workbench, on which I'll be moving over to less rugged projects for inside the house.
The first thing I'll probably tackle inside will be this bookcase, which I'll be making an effort to affix to the studs and make it a permanent part of the wall by wrapping the crown molding and baseboards in front of it.
Then, at some point, I'd love to build a step-back cabinet, and I might start making these on the regular to sell if I can get good enough at making them.
And finally (for now), here's one I'm really looking forward to. I'll be purchasing a new 65" tv and new sound system for this, but I'll finally be able to make the living room I've always wanted with this floating entertainment center:
