Been on steemit it for a wee while now and wanted to post something but I didn't feel like I had something interesting to say. Well I do now, if you don't know what the 48Hfp event is it's an event for film makers all over the world who are given 48 hours to script, film and edit a complete short film. Its gruelling but it's also brilliant. That and I have the good fortune to do it with some absolutely amazingly and brilliant people!
Some of our previous work speaks for itself, like this -
Love hurts, a tale of love gone wrong,
We had a great time making it, here are some of the behind the scenes pics,
Some random pics of a great bit of filming-
I hope you watched the video before getting here because I am going to give away some of the plot, so we decided on a murder scene, here we are setting up,
Some more setup,
The idea was that it's a hammer attack, it's quite gory and a bit upsetting for some folk, but it worked soooo well,
The initial setup went very well,
The aftermath was quite horrible too,
But Through the magic of video and fake blood we didn't actually hammer anyone to death,
Heh heh.
The inspiration for the scene came from some books and videos I had watched with the horror FX master Tom Savini, now I am in no way comparing myself to one of the greats of horror, but watch the film then this part will make sense, we were going to try it a number of different ways, so i decided that I would use a melon, and oh boy how well it looked and sounded, could never have guessed, just to prove no actors were harmed in the filming -
Can't say the same for the melon...
The character with the pillow case over her head makes a return later on as you can see on the film,
We won best FX that year.
Exhausting and exhilarating in equal measures.
Part 2, coming soon...
We are the random asides. This has been fun.
