This is another prelude to an upcoming post which will be all about the same topic. The first of this series is this post about a Harry Potter themed train station in Tokyo.
In the middle of our studio tour, we were starving. Actually, it was me who was starving as it's almost dinnertime and I hadn't had a proper meal yet. I reserved a table for us in a sushi restaurant in another location but the tour seemed not yet over and would probably take a few more hours to complete. I had no more energy left, especially socializing. π And I also had to let go of sushi.
Hmm, it was partly my fault for not eating anything when there was a large food hall before the studio tour began. I thought we would end in an hour or so but turned out, it's not.
Luckily, we found a shop selling the famous Butterbeer!
Oh wait, did I tell you where we were? Right, I probably didn't.

Anyway, back to butterbeer. Since I had no more energy left, I assigned myself to look for a seat for all of us. I asked my friends to get me a butterbeer.
I didn't know they were hungry too. Well, it's already 7 PM, who wouldn't get hungry at this time. Besides butterbeer, they ordered popcorn. Yes, you read it right, they got popcorn to fill their growling tummies. The popcorn wasn't so appealing to me. I needed a proper meal.
While I was sipping my butterbeer, which was by the way, delicious but too sweet for me (I guess I'm not used to this kind of sweetness anymore), I noticed that indoors, there's the Backlot Cafe which seems to be inviting. I talked to my friends about dinner and after discussing, a friend and I were already on the queue in getting our orders in the Backlot Cafe.
There are set meals - and guess what the set meals are? It's a specialty for every house in Hogwarts.
It's too expensive! This set meal isn't really within my budget but at that time, I didn't care anymore. I just wanted to be filled and energetic again so I could continue the tour with fulfillment. π
We waited for our orders to be delivered in our table. I wasn't able to take a photo of the entire Backlot Cafe, too sad. But it's a stylish cafe - more like a diner. Our drinks arrived first - too many people ordered ginger ale and orange juice.
I ordered the Hufflepuff Plate which consists of a roast chicken meal and a drink. The other houses' meals weren't really that appealing to me, and I think most of my friends thought the same thing as almost all of us ordered the same thing.
It was so funny because we thought that it was a real plant in our plate. The black thing really looked like soil but til now, I still don't know what it is. It tasted like soil. π
Under the soil was mash with some more vegetables. It was good, but too many unknown on my plate. π
Another friend ordered the Gryffindor Plate which was roast beef. This was the most expensive set meal of all 4.
Actually, when our orders arrived, my friends were surprised to see cake on our table. Who would order such a wonderful dessert?! Well, that's me yall and that cake's mine! π€£
Just look at this adorable and cute Hedwig Cake. It seemed like it didn't want to be eaten. π It was like a sponge cake but there's a filling inside - custard I think. As I was the only one who ordered desserts, I shared it with my friends too. The icing wasn't that sweet, just right.
No more sushi. I told my friends about our sushi reservation after we're all done eating. We kinda got a bit disappointed but our food in Backlot Cafe is something we would be willing to come back for! It doesn't come cheap and you can't enter the Backlot Cafe if you don't have a ticket for the day so in the end, happy me and no regrets dining here. And for sure, we'll be back!
And oh, I forgot to tell you that the butterbeer cup can be taken home. There's a rinsing area where you could wash your cup a bit and they'll give you a bag to take it home. I was so glad because there were only limited cups in the house! π Super nice souvenir!
