Hi! I’m Ica a.k.a 
I came from a poor family. My Mom and Dad were separated. I learned to make a living at the age of 13. My Grandma is a great tailor and through her teachings, I was able to work in our neighborhood who owned a small tailoring business. I work every after my class on weekdays and the whole day during weekends. It became my source until I graduated from high school. Lucky enough, a good friend of my Mom offered me a scholarship thus I was able to study Computer Programming Vocational Course while working as a saleslady at the age of 16. When I turned 18 years-old I ventured on a BPO industry. With my little knowledge of speaking English and computers, I got hired and worked for 2 years. It was tough in the beginning, many of my customers were complaining about my communication skills. But because I badly need the job I worked hard to improve myself. I was transferred to the Sales Department where I became and awarded as the all-time Top Sales Performer. Unfortunately, after 2 years of working very hard, I got health issues. I had difficulties in sleeping, headaches, I became too skinny, and got a lot of pimples in my face. I am the breadwinner during that time and despite my health issues I had to pursue to make money. Until I met the people who changed my life. They were young entrepreneurs who taught and showed me the opportunity despite being an under College graduate through the power of the internet. I thought I will be spending my whole life working in the BPO industry but I was wrong.
Those young entrepreneurs I met became my best of friends. With the knowledge, they shared I learned how to use the internet to learn and earn. I resigned from my BPO job and started my own Gadgets Online Store. I didn’t have any capital when I started my business, I just did the drop-shipping techniques and from nothing, I was able to earn up to 5 digits a day. Bigger than my monthly salary. But it doesn’t end there! It was the year 2015 when I was introduced by my Fiance to the world of Bitcoin. God also blessed me with a new job. I was hired as an Online Consultant in one of the Company that also introduces bitcoin. I worked purely home based. I was immediately promoted as Team Leader after few months and handled the Online Advertising team in the Philippines, Korea, and Kenya. My 5 digit income became 6 digits per month and because of that at the age of 22, I was able to buy my own house and lot, invest in stock market and gold and sent my sister to college and graduated. And in return to all the Lord’s blessings, I contributed and helped our Local Church finish its renovation. Also gave gifts to the elders and children in our church during Christmas. Because blessings are sweeter when shared to other. :) On the other hand, nothing is temporary in this world. After 2 years my contract has ended, though I no longer work for that company, yet the wisdom that I got remains in me.
Since I learned and experience how powerful the internet was, I got the idea that even people who were unable to finish college have the chance to become successful. Now I chose to become a Freelancer for several reasons. First, I am the Boss of myself. I don’t have to follow commands and be pressured in maintaining my performance and hitting quotas. Second, Time freedom. I can stay up late and wake up late if I wanted to. I can travel and go on vacation anytime without worrying about the job I left behind. Third, it’s convenient. I can do my work even without taking a bath. I don’t need to travel everyday to the office. Since it’s online, it’s very accessible anytime and anywhere. Fourth, I can get many jobs as much as I want. Since I own my time, I can set my own schedule to manage all my work. And most of all, I can get jobs without being intimidated with my educational attainment. I’m currently doing 5 jobs everyday and that include Steemit. And I can do my 5 jobs without compromising my daily household routines such as cleaning, cooking, washing, petting my dogs, etc. I still have time to watch my favorite tv show and have extra time to nap. Freelancers earnings determined by the time and effort they put on their work. Thus, if you want to earn bigger you must exert more effort to attain it. Being a Freelancer will practice your discipline and determination to earn.
Hence, technology, on the other hand, give a huge contribution to our lives. It gives chance to many people to earn and change their lives. Just like Steemit :) Where everyone can be part of the community and are free to write and earn. You might not know but at some point, a 1 SBD earning from their post could feed their hungry family.
