Not too long ago my friend who works as an English teacher in a public elementary school sent me a photo of her lunch. It was the same lunch that they serve the children. To put it mildly, I was impressed! It looked a bit better than what I had as kid growing up in the 90s in the United States. With out me asking she started sending me a few photos each week. Then she suggested me to do a school lunch photo series for my blog.
Being a fan of food and culture I figured why not do a series of School Lunches from Thailand! The people and the food is so much of what makes each country unique, it really is what keeps me excited about traveling even after 18 years of living mostly out of a backpack. When you go to a new place things are done differently and it can be seen from the language, the clothing, money, food, architecture, social norms, art, theater, even which side of the road they drive on!
Here in this blog series we'll take a look into how they do school lunch for the kids which is clearly representation of a people and culture. Besides the delicious looking Thai food they get to eat everyday; I was told that it's an all you can eat buffet, and it's free! No extra charge for these kids attending a regular government run public school. Now come along and lets have a closer look at what the kiddies are eating for lunch here in Chiang Mai Thailand!
THANK YOU
