Disney and Lenovo are working on the Star Wars AR headset

Disney and Lenovo are working together on the project, currently we barely know anything about it.

We will only need a lightscaber-like accesory and of course a headset and the battle could immediately begin in the living-room. At least this is the basic idea behind the Star Wars Jedi Challanges system which is introduced by Disney on the D23.

Unfortunately there are very few informations are known currently but that is sure the Disney and Lenovo are working together on the project which is getting more close.

In reality we are taking about an AR headset which is laying on augmented reality by using our smartphone. So the performance and the display is given by the phone, the price of headset could be closer to the price of Samsung Gear VR rather than the long figure of HTC Vive. Of course the graphics and the performance are stays in certain limits this way.

It's interesting that the mobile sector are almost exclusively focused on virtual reality until this time and on the mixed or augmented reality didn't. The ARKit of Apple delivered the change which showed that what can the mobile phones of the future do when we have to place virtual objects in the real world.
