Hello everyone,
How is the day going? I hope you are all fine?
A family member of my, has been having problem sleeping at night for a while now, and so in a bid to help this family member out, i went searching and i discovered seven foods that i can help with the problem. I want to share it with with you all, so that you can benefit too because it has helped my family member.
Sleep is something that comes naturally, however their are people who are not able to sleep at night for one reason or the other. If you have this problem of sleeplessness, don't worry help is here now.
Here are the seven foods that studies have shown to address sleeplessness:
1. Honey.
Natural, raw honey contains high amount of glucose and fructose. While Fructose takes much longer to process, glucose gives your body a small burst of energy in form of blood sugar.
Together, these two chemicals sustain your glucose levels while you doze.
The little bit of glucose lowers levels of orexin, a neurotransmitter that raises your level of alertness, making your brain less active that makes you sleep better at night.
I use honey because i do not take refined sugar and i have also noticed an improvement in my sleep.
2. Nuts.
Nuts like Almonds, Pistachios, Walnuts, Cashews nuts etc, have unsaturated fats that will not only boost your heart health but also improve your serotonin level. These nuts contain magnesium, a mineral that acts like a natural sedative. A small deficiency of magnesium can lead to trouble in sleeping. So since nuts have alot of magnesium it can help improve your sleep.

3. Bananas.
Bananas are excellent source of of potassium and magnesium, which helps to relax overstressed muscles. It also contain tryptophan, which converts to serotonin and melatonin, the brain's main calming hormones, thereby making this fruit nature's little sedative.
Bananas
4. Oats.
Oats are rich in sleep-inducing melatonin, minerals, vitamins and amino-acids. It may be a breakfast meal but if you need a good night rest, perhaps a bowl of Oat mixed with milk and/or honey can make you have a good night sleep.
5. Yoghurt.
It contains calcium, which is needed for processing sleep-inducing hormones, melatonin and tryptohan. If yoghurt is used with nuts and/or bananas, you are sure to get a very comforting bedtime snack.

6. Poultry.
Am sure no one would have thought that poultry would be a recommendation for sleep? Poultry in general contains sleep-inducing trytophan. Trytophan is an amino-acid that the brain uses to make melatonin and serotonin, hormones that calms and induces sleep.
7. Pizza.
Any excuse given to eat pizza is good!! Though some people particularly the fitness crew, might disagree with this because pizza contains high level of fat.
But pizza contains a high level of glycemic index and it helps induce sleep. A slice taken just before bedtime has been known to help put one to a good sleep faster than normal.
Don't just over eat Pizza though!!
