El Cerro de Monserrate se encuentra en Bogotá, siendo un sitio turístico imperdible dónde van muchos habitantes e internacionales. Es muy famoso por la grandiosa naturaleza que tiene, admirando desde arriba toda la ciudad de Bogotá. También es un sitio muy religioso debido a que en su cúspide reposa el santuario.

Desde que viaje a Bogotá me habían mencionado este lugar, entre unas ocupaciones y otras no había tomado el tiempo de ir. Celebrar mi cumpleaños junto a mis dos seres queridos más cercanos fue la ocasión perfecta para hacerlo, así que sin más que decir acá te muestro mi experiencia⛰️🥰.

The hill of Monserrate is located in Bogota, being a must-see tourist site where many locals and internationals go. It is very famous for the great nature it has, admiring from above the entire city of Bogota. It is also a very religious site because at its peak rests the sanctuary.

Since I traveled to Bogota I had been mentioned this place, between some occupations and others I had not taken the time to go. Celebrating my birthday with my two closest loved ones was the perfect occasion to do so, so without further ado here is my experience⛰️🥰.

Para está salida nos levantamos súper temprano (Maykol, Junior y yo) de está manera nos pudiera rendir el día, luego de arreglarnos pedimos el taxi por la aplicación, nos tomo 40 minutos llegar al lugar, mientras podíamos admirar algunas bellezas de la ciudad.

Here begins the journey...

For this outing we got up super early (Maykol, Junior and I) so we could make the day, after getting ready we ordered the cab through the application, it took us 40 minutes to get to the place, while we could admire some beauties of the city.

Llegando al lugar, puedes observar la punta del Santuario entre los árboles que lo rodean. (Hasta esa altura tendríamos que subir😢)

Arriving at the place, you can observe the tip of the Sanctuary among the trees that surround it. (Up to that height we would have to climb😢).

Las formas para subir al cerro son el sendero peatonal, el teleférico o el funicular, estás opciones las puedes usar tanto para subir como para bajar del mismo.

Nosotros llegamos temprano y nos animamos a subir 1.115 escalones (Obviamente no los conté jajajaja, pero eso es según la información que consigues en los carteles que encuentras durante el camino y buscando en internet lo confirmé). Recorrimos 2.350 metros para llegar al Santuario.

How do we get there?

The ways to go up to the hill are the pedestrian path, the cable car or the funicular, these options can be used both to go up and down the hill.

We arrived early and we were encouraged to climb 1,115 steps (Obviously I did not count them hahaha, but that is according to the information you get on the signs you find along the way and looking on the internet confirmed it). We traveled 2,350 meters to get to the Sanctuary.

A pesar de que a veces sentía que nunca iba a llegar, ya que eran muchos escalones y cada vez una brisa más fría, se dificulta un poco más el subir cuando es primera vez que lo haces, no puedo negar la belleza del lugar y el como se puede apreciar la ciudad a medida que vas subiendo es grandiosa.

Although at times I felt that I would never get there, since there were many steps and a colder breeze, it is a little more difficult to climb when it is the first time you do it, I can not deny the beauty of the place and how you can appreciate the city as you go up is great.

¡Lo logramos!

Nos tomó dos horas llegar al Santuario, pero créanme valió absolutamente la pena, es una vista demasiado hermosa, un espacio que te llena de tranquilidad, encuentras muchos restaurantes, incluso tienen escultura del viacrucis alrededor de la iglesia, pozos del deseo, y cada detalle de este lugar es ESPECTACULAR.

Me encantó mucho celebrar mi cumpleaños con las maravillas de la naturaleza🥰, aunque en mi próxima visita subiría por el teleférico 😂, pero si alguien va por primera vez le recomiendo subir por el sendero peatonal, puesto que disfrutaras todo el camino hasta llegar al Santuario.

We did it!

It took us two hours to get to the Sanctuary, but believe me it was absolutely worth it, it is a beautiful view, a space that fills you with tranquility, you find many restaurants, they even have a sculpture of the viacrucis around the church, wells of desire, and every detail of this place is SPECTACULAR.

I really enjoyed celebrating my birthday with the wonders of nature🥰, although in my next visit I would go up by the cable car 😂, but if someone goes for the first time I recommend going up by the pedestrian path, since you will enjoy all the way up to the Sanctuary.

Luego de caminar todo el lugar y comprar algunos recuerditos y detalles para nosotros decidimos regresarnos, para esto si tomamos el camino más fácil que fue bajar por el teleférico😂, este si tiene un costo por usarlo, de igual forma a tu alrededor tendrás de vista todos los árboles que rodean el lugar. De esta forma termino nuestro recorrido por el Cerro de Monserrate.

After walking around the place and buying some souvenirs and details for us we decided to return, for this we took the easiest way which was to go down the cable car😂, this does have a cost to use it, just as around you will have a view of all the trees surrounding the place. This is the end of our tour of the Cerro de Monserrate.
