The wedding ceremony begins as the bride is handed a cup of palm wine and she covers it with her palm, she is ordered to give the palm wine to her husband so she begins to look around in search of her husband, other young men around will beckon oh her to give them the palm wine but she will refuse and have a determined mine to give it to her husband only. When she finally meets her husband, she kneels and hands him over the cup of palm wine, this act describes the perfection of the marriage ceremony.
In some villages, however, the bride is made to hawk some items like egg or other goods in the presence of the watching crowd, this will display her act of being industrious and her ability to support her husband and the family.
In some communities, the bride's family goes to visit the bride some days after the wedding to give gifts such as household items to the new bride, they often go in a celebrating mood, as ladies dance with the gifts on their head and they move towards the bride's house and the wife comes out to receive them and the gifts they have brought for her.
