Kim's Taste #15: Team Dinner at Rockets Grill & Acoustic Lounge

Welcome to the 15th edition of Kim's Taste! In this edition, I will be deviating again from my normal reviews. This will be the first time that I will be focusing mainly on the ambiance of the restaurant more than the food they serve. There were cases when I had focused on an ambiance before, but not to this extent.

This restaurant in review is our favorite when it comes to dinners and team eat-outs. It's more like a comfort place where we could have unlimited chat after munching the food. This restaurant is Rockets Grill.

Let's start with the review proper.

Team gatherings, dinners, and other events strengthens the camaraderie and relationships among the members. Our team recognized that and we are usually having dinners during paydays or special occasions. Through the years, I think Rockets Grill has been a witness of the changes within the team.

Rockets Grill should be named as Rockets Grill & Acoustic Lounge because of the presence of musical instruments that can be used by anyone who wants to perform. I think this is an added point for the restaurant. People can have time to unwind after eating their dinner. It's interesting.

Before I'll discuss more about the ambiance, I guess I should at least give an overview of the other aspects of the restaurant. This will give an overall impression and what you should expect from the restaurant.

For the food, I guess it's standard. It's delicious. I can't say anything extra, but it's not bad either. Their menu has variety and they don't have a specific cuisine, so I guess you don't have to worry about your options. One thing I realized is that there are items in the menu that are not available. Other than that, everything's just fine.

For the price, it's really cheap. It's way cheaper than other restaurants in Cebu City area. For about Php 300.00, I think can have a complete meal with finger foods and drinks.

As for the staff, they're very accommodating and they're always looking for anything the customers needed especially when you're still waiting for your orders.

Now, for the ambiance, I feel like I'm transported to the 80s or 90s. It's edgy, but comforting. The space is smaller than the usual restaurant space, but there are available spaces outside.

What's interesting is the musical instruments available for anyone to use. I think at around 8:00 PM, the restaurant hired a musician to play and you're allowed to request your favorite song.

My boss likes to play guitar and drums so, he's usually found on the instruments. Having someone playing music on the background while you're chatting with your friends and colleagues really adds a different vibe to the whole experience.

Overall, Rockets Grill is really recommended for those who wanted to unwind. By the way, beers and other drinks are available in the restaurant.
