"Every child is an artist, the problem is to remain an artist when we grow up."
Robert L.Stevenson.
Happy day my dear hivers, here I bring you second drawing corresponding to the list of ideas and suggestions that several of you provided me to make a custom Inktober that I have called Inktober Yen, this time the idea was provided by the esteemed .😉
BUT BEFORE WE START, I ASK YOU THE FOLLOWING QUESTION:
Do you know what the scratch technique is?
I don't know either! well seriously speaking, I tell you that some time ago I saw a user of this community (sorry I didn't write down his user name) making spectacular art, I asked him in the comments and he told me that it was easy, it was the scratching technique and there is also the doodling technique.
The scratching technique I understand in what I could investigate, serves to give more shadows or lighting, textures, and shades and create contrasts, particularly is a topic that I am very interested in learning, I sometimes find it difficult to identify the side of the light and shadows, so the perfect time has come to put into practice this technique.
Now yes, to what we came for, Let's Draw!
MATERIALS:
- Paper (I use mostly recycled paper to practice) if you have your own sketch pad, all the better.
- Pencil.
- Eraser.
- Rapidograph or very fine tip marker. It is also known as Microdot I understand.
- Black ink pen.
- Motivation!
DRAWING PROCESS:
The first thing that comes to my mind is to make two faces, one of a lady and one of a gentleman, the one of the lady I try to make a nice face, calm, serene, with a look maybe thoughtful, highlighting the eyelashes, thin eyebrows like the ones used by a great actress of the golden cinema Marlene Dietrich.
You can see the guidelines, the central guide, the eyes, nose, and mouth and I started to scratch on the neck with doubt...✍️
I used the sheet completely to scratch at ease, as for the ugly one I wanted to place a gentleman, someone who was very ugly but funny, so I made another face with very expressive eyes, very bushy eyebrows, a huge nose, and smile... cheerful, although I don't think he is a toothpaste model.😅
It's not ugly... it's different.😏😄
This is how the two penciled faces have turned out.
I didn't know which direction to take, so I preferred to let myself go without thinking, giving shape to the eyebrows, I filled the lips with many fine lines, between the septum of the nose and left eye I emphasized with more intensity the lines to make it look darker, that is to say, I am creating the shadow.
This is how it looks interposing the crossed lines in the neck, leaving blank spaces, with the gentleman I also emphasized the eyebrows and chin, I combed his hair but it's ugly!😅
After having made the drawing with the graphite I use the Rapidograft and make light strokes to know where each line goes to give me an idea, I erase the remains of the pencil and then I use the pencil, I remembered my college days when I had the fever of drawing everything with colored pencils, so now for the Inktober occasion, I did it with black ink covering all the necessary spaces.
Now that I look at it I think I could have dared to do more, more stripes in the girl's hair to give it depth and volume.🙄
NOW IN DIGITAL
This is the final art manually, you know that my style at the end is to invent something more with the wonders offered by the phone in the editing part, there I place the brightness and even my signature with my great phone Redmi 7A then I go to the application that I love that is:
Photshop Express Mobile Express.
You already know the digital effects and I suggest them for your illustration and even photography posts, invent! I wanted to complement it with something else, something that would give relevance to the drawing and I found this marvel reviewing this marvel
LunaPic which I also highly recommend because it has a wide variety of effects to choose from.
What did you think? Did you like it? What would you eliminate or add to the design or suggestions to illustrate better? I am waiting for your valuable comments, thanks a thousand for reading, and see you in the next post where you will see a cartoon or some version of an illustration in fashion design.
Final recommendation
When the muse arrives, you must let yourself go, whatever time it is, give yourself a few minutes for you, and have fun creating something, even if you think it is insignificant, it turns out to be worth gold because it cleared your mind and what you think you have drawn is nothing, for others, it is a work of art.
