Hello friends of Steemit, especially the fans of good football and their great stories, I hope you are well and have had a great start to the week. On this occasion I come to share the life story of a football player who lost everything. I invite you to know his experience and flex on it.
The Paraguayan player Salvador Cabañas who was once the idol of America in Mexico, and in 2008 was named the best player on the continent and figure in the selection of Paraguay, led by coach Tata Martino, almost died after being shot in the head product of a discussion in a bar in Mexico City.
The facts go back to the night of January 25, 2010, after a cross of words with the Mexican citizen Jose Jorge Balderas alias "The J.J." in one of the bathrooms of the bar, this man drew a firearm and pointed directly at the forehead of the player then shot him.
As if his misfortune were not enough, after having deceived death, being in recovery, his wife decides to abandon him and also together with his representative and lawyer they took everything he had, from his luxurious mansion to the money in his bank accounts, literally left him on the street.
Before the fatal fact he had signed a pre-contract for 1'700.000 dollars for a transfer to a European team, Manchester United. But America doubled his salary and managed to keep him by giving him two apartments, one in Acapulco and the other in Cancun.
After leaving therapy to recover and be empty-handed, none of his former teammates or any of the club's leaders came forward to help him.
"When you are well there if everyone is always with you, they thank you and everything. But when you're sick, they forget that you once shook his hand, they don't remember that and many other things"-Salvador Cabañas.
Now this player who was once a great idol for many works alongside his parents in a family bakery to survive. He takes the bread home to different regions and cities near Asunción, the Paraguayan capital.
"I'm glad to know that the common people still remember me as the great player, it's something I always appreciate and respect, it makes my spirits rise. When I hand out the orders, I am asked a lot about clear football, about the incident of that night and how after having everything I now bring them bread to their homes or businesses. I know that I will succeed, here I am recovering and with a new vision, I still have faith after what happened -Salvador Cabañas.
It's a life story to reflect on, to know who we really count on. When you're on top everyone gives you a hand everyone wants to be your friend, but when you're in a bad time no one remembers you. We must broaden our vision, look to the sides to really know who is with you and if you can count on them when you need them most. Be kind and respectful to people because at any time you may need their help.
What do you think about this shocking life story?
