First Question:
HOW MANY TIMES DO I GET TO SEE THIS MOVIE BEFORE IT STOPS HAVING SUCH AN EFFECT ON ME??
Every Romance Junkie has one all-time favourite go-to Romance movie, and THIS is mine! To me, this is sadder than The Titanic, Romeo and Juliet and The Fault in Our Stars.
Jojo Meyers overdid it with this one and I have to catch my breath before getting down to the amazing details of this movie that made me fall in love with it.
This movie was drawn from the book by Jojo Meyers titled Me Before You.
It centres on the amazing life of an overactive hotshot called William Traynor who has an amazing life until faith deals him a bad hand when he's run down by a motorcycle and is subjected to a spinal cord injury which renders him paralyzed from the neck downward asides limited movement on his thumb and forefinger.
Then bring in Loissa Clarke, the chatty, witty, fun-loving caregiver hired by William's parents to give Will a reason to live.
Louisa has a hard time initially getting along with Will, and Will had an exceptionally great time making Lou's life miserable, until one day he gives her a nasty attitude and she puts him in his place, letting the unfortunate mister know that she doesn't give a damn about him and only stands his ass coz she needs money. This revelation comes as a shock to Will, and that's where I believe he got hooked.
Will falls in love with Lou and hates himself for it. Before Lou arrived in Will's life, Will already had an agreement with his parents that if he saw no improvement in his condition in 6months, he would end it all in Switzerland, I believe they call it 'Mercy Killing'.
Lou got her heart in the mix when she falls in love with this man who has his end planned out. And when she finds out about the upcoming suicide, she tries her best to make him change his mind but he refused and even begged her to go with him to Switzerland. It ends in a very very sad way.
But, the question is, is there still hope for Loissa Clarke? The sequel, After You, starts in an extremely sad way with Lou leaving home, starting a new life in Paris, she still misses Will and sometimes still hears his voice in her head. Her new life of anonymity is cut short when she falls off a building, breaks several bones and has to go back home to her family to fully recover.
I only started reading the book this morning, but so far there's bound to be drama as Lou is approached by a young girl of 16 who claims to be Will's daughter.
I only hope she finds love again, and I believe she will, that's why I've got my nose deep in this novel right now.
I'll give a proper review of it when I'm done, hopefully.
