Joining Hive was easy "thats the account creation part" but trying to navigate through the platform at first was "difficult".
Little background story: my cousin and I were having a discussion when he mentioned " hive" to me and that was two years ago. He shared his testimony on how hive has helped him and made him independent. The part that triggered me was when he mentioned "he is been writing on Hive for a while" and doesn't have an actual physical job, now that busts my bubble.
At that moment I was very eager to create an account, I can't recall what happened, maybe during that period I was having a good time with life and wasn't bothered to get an extra source of income. My pay was sufficient and the economy of my nation was a little bit okay for a normal girl like me.
Fast forward to when I decided to get my account created, so the moment my current pay wasn't giving me what I wanted, I had to chat up my cousin and tell him I was interested in the writing stuff he mentioned, now do I know how to write? "Well, not really".
So my cousin assisted in creating my account and also supported me in getting my introductory post ready to publish, so I was done and I hit the publish button and my post was published.
My introductory post had some likes and nice comments, and the welcoming messages were heartening, after my first post, I wasn't getting too many likes again and it felt like I wasn't a good writer " or maybe it was just me that's the problem" I began to notice other authors who were getting massive likes and comments, I started desiring to be like them.
Then one day I came across a post where someone shared his story and how he started on the platform, where the author mentioned a lot of things and I got to pick out some major key points for myself the first one was "You do not have to be perfect to become a writer" and the second "consistency is key to growth on the platform" and the final one "engagement" these three points had groomed me into being consistent in the platform.
These three points I listed have made me become the person I am today on the platform, "Hive is a game changer" or "life changer instead" I thought Hive would be my side hustle but fortunately it has become the major hustle in my life.
It's my tenth month on the blockchain and it's been a roller coaster of growth and learning at the same time, I'm super grateful and the most interesting part is the fact that it opens a platform for me to earn and live a good life.
This is my entry to the #indiaunited weekly contest.
