I book a spontaneous trip to Montego Bay, Jamaica recently for my family. We all had passports so I was ready to book the trip.
I left my employees with my car to handle the business and got a rental car to drive down to Fort Lauderdale. I contacted all my customers early to let them know I wouldn't be there and how they could reach me if they needed to. We stayed at a nice resort in Fort Lauderdale the name of the resort was Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa for the two days before we left for Jamaica.
I enjoyed the beautiful hotel and exploring the city . I was able to see some old friends and go shopping. There was a big pool at the hotel and it was right by the beach. Everyone was happy here so I was glad we took the extra time to come here earlier.
The hotel was very close to the airport so it was easy to leave when it came time. The flight to Jamaica was only about 1 hours long but we had to wait over an hour to get through customs. After being cleared, we found a taxi and headed to the resort. When we arrived, we were greeted with hand towels and specialty drinks. It was a warm welcome that all us enjoyed.

Once we got to our room, the first priority was getting to the beach and lazy river.
Following our time in the sun, it became dinner time. It was so nice not having to worry about food or drinks while we were there. They were able to make us basically anything we desired and we all ate extra well.
We repeated this cycle for the next few days and by that point I was ready to go into town. The local taxis know where to find the tourists and make them pay extra. Just to go into town cost $90.
So after one trip I realized it wasn't worth the money to go to town. My sons were upset because they wanted to go see a movie in town but I didn't think it would be worth the money. They had excursions within the resort so we decided to go on a bamboo raft. For all of us to go the total was $300.
After our first three days there, we were informed there were no more standard rooms available. We upgrade to a suite that cost $800 a night. The room was a but it was becoming too expensive for us to stay there. My kids had been ordering room service instead of eating the included food and it began to add up. Since we had already experienced what the resort had to offer, we decided to leave earlier.
It was $500 to change our flights but it was still cheaper than the cost to stay longer.
So I booked another hotel in Miami for when we arrived.
This one was wonderful as well and we found that the water is even clearer hear than in Jamaica. We had lots of fun at the beach and around Miami and we felt like we could've just stayed here for vacation.
I was happy to know my way around again and I was able to take my kids to go see the new Transformers movie. We went to the Sugar Factory while we were there and the decor was very classy. There were magnificent chandeliers dangling from above and even the seats beneath us looked elegant. My favorite part, is that you were able to see the chefs as they were preparing the food for us.
Our vacation finally headed to a close and we began the drive home. When we made it home, I was happy to find that everything was still in order and my cat still had food. After a much needed vacation it was good to be back home.
