Welcome to the forbidden castle on top of a mountain in North Evias Greece.
As I walk close to the edge on this mountain I have to hold the walls so not to fall off. I don't know how they built this castle so high but it really is amazing. I believe this castle was destroyed in a siege buy the roman army.
Can you believe the destruction that must have happened here. Now the castle is a beautiful ancient wonder that we can sit back and adore. The views of the countryside and small towns in the distance are breathtaking.
Yet I wonder if anyone lived after the siege? I wonder if anyone knows the price there ancestors paid for our freedoms today. Maybe that is why such ancient buildings are so important now days. To remind us a day may come when we may have to be as brave as them. Standing up to whatever may come.
