Rage! the big red beast from the Rebellion set is one of the most intimidating Legendary Dragons in Modern Ranked right now.RAGE!!!
Good morning, warriors!
I can confidently say that today is one of the happiest days I've had playing Splinterlands. After grinding Modern Ranked battles for 6 months, I finally achieved something special.
This is the first time I've defeated the powerful combination of Rage + Night Reaper, led by the dragon summoner Nidhoggr β not forgetting the strong support units as well.
When the batttle started,my heart was beating fast, I must admit. But when I saw that bold green "Victory" screen, I could hardly believe my eyes.
Taking down a deck featuring Rage + Night Reaper + Zyrx the Emberglace is no easy feat in Modern Ranked battles, many warriors here would bear me witness!
Splinterlands is no walk in the park, but that's what amps up the excitement.A winning strategy weighs stats, abilities, rulesets, mana caps, and beyond. That's why you must factor them all into your deck building. Toss in strong cards to boost your setups, and push hard to rack up as many victories as possible! π₯

TAKE A LOOK AT THESE MONSTERS AT THEIR MAX LEVEL:
They are, without a doubt, every true warrior's dream. Someday I will write a detailed report about them. Let's go to the battlefield and see what really happened.

The battle:
The ruleset, line up and plan.
The total mana cost was 55 and you are to choose splinters from fire,water, death and dragon.The rulesets are;
Eggceleration and Knock Out
Ruleset Impact:
Eggceleration: All units gain +1 to all stats (Health, Armor, Attack, Speed) at the end of each round. Longer fights favor sustain and chip damage over pure burst.
Knockout (Heavy Hitters): All units deal double damage to Stunned targets. My opponent had Sultry Barmaid with Stun + Ambush, a big threat.
My Line up:
Summoner: Cryptic with -1 Speed + Blind (15% miss chance on attacks) to all enemy units. This critically slowed Nidhoggr's high-speed threats and caused many misses, especially important under Knockout.
Buffs granted: Poison + Expose to two units. Poison chips 2 HP/round (stacks with Eggceleration attrition), and Expose strips defensive buffs like Void, Shields, etc
My Team (Water/Death focused, balanced sustain + control):
- Doomshield Warden: my tank (Melee attack, with Flank) β Absorbs initial hits. Flank helps it hit side targets.
- Thanalorian Scion: (Magic attack, with corrosive Ward + Void Armor) β Strong magic damage + excellent defense stripping/resistance. Void Armor is key against magic/flying.
- Abyssal Elemental:(Magic attack, with Resurgence) β Resurrection/sustain ability shines in longer Eggceleration fights.
- Captain Fellblade:(Magic/Melee hybrid, with Sneak + Strengthen) β Poison carrier.
- Warborn Shaman:(Magic attack, with Void + Impede + Ambush) β Poison carrier.
- Tidal Tsunamist:(Melee attack, withSneak) β Rear damage dealer.
My opponents lineup:
Summoner: Nidhoggr
Debuffs: -1 Health and -1 Melee across my team. This hurts.
Buffs granted: Chose +2 Speed + Execute(option )on three monsters.Execute lets them chain another attack if they drop a target to β€2 HP β very lethal with fast units.
Opponent's Team (Aggressive Flying/High Speed):
- Zyrx the Emberglace: (Tank, Dual attack Melee+Magic, Flying + Incendiary) β Brutal opener, burns and hits both ways.
** Mar Toren Trader**:(Ranged attack). - Rage:(Magic attack, withFlying + Void Cloak) β Evasive magic damage.
- Night Reaper(Magic attack, with Flying + Windbreak) β High mobility damage.
- Sultry Barmaid: (Ranged attack, Ambush + Stun) β Knockout enabler.
My opponent actually went full air superiority + speed burst, trying to overwhelm my lineup, before my debuffs and Poison stacked.

Ambush Round,I attacked first, injecting poison on his tank, from warborn shaman, due to ambush.
Round 1,Scence 6,Rage took out my tank, almost immediately after it was stunned.
Round 1,Scene 8, another of his monster(Sultry barmaid)was hit by poison, this time delivered by Captain Fellblade, while his tank is suffering the initial poison hit, loosing is health slowly.
Round 1,Scene 17,I lost my assist tank, thanalorian Scion, while his Sultry barmaid was eliminated as well.
Round 1,Scene 23, this round was actually long. Zyrx the emberglace bowed to too much poison.
Round 2,first eggeleration (all units gain +1 stats).
Round 2, Scene 5, Abyssal elemental was talking out,but his resurgence ability brought him back.
Round 2,Scene 8, Night reaper,affected by poison.
Round 3,Scene 9,Rage affected by poison for the first time.
Round 4, effect of the poison, depleting their health slowly
Round 4, Scene 15,Rage eliminated, poison was too much.
Round 5,Death of Night Reaper, too much poison as well and standing against two of my last remaining monster.

Kudos to my opponent, his "full brute force" was front-loaded aggression, but my lineup had better tools for a prolonged fight under these rulesets. Nidhoggr setups can be scary with Execute chains, but they fold hard to consistent debuffs, misses, and chip when they can't close quickly.
Overall: This is a classic "sustain + control beats raw aggression" matchup. Cryptic's toolkit perfectly countered Nidhoggr's buffs, and Eggceleration rewarded y/my resilient composition.
