The 45th week went very well and was very exciting, moreover, many contestants took part in the contest from the first edition this week. It can be said, this 45th week will reap the same success as the previous weeks. As you all know that the first edition was successful and this time we will be heading to the 2nd edition in week 45. As previously announced, in this 2nd edition we will discuss technology in the world of education, which of course has been an advancement in the field of education in recent years. I also have an opinion on this matter and will discuss it in this post.
So let's check this out...
As we know, education is the main and most important aspect in every country in the world. Every country is competing to improve the quality in terms of education so that in the future it can give birth to talented students who will make their respective countries proud. Because of that, every country tries its best and tries hard to improve the quality of their education system, because of that every country implements different educational systems and methods and is as effective as possible.
In this modern era, the education system has also undergone significant changes. The education system gets a little renewal and gets a touch of technology which really supports the teaching and learning process, of course. Since the Google search engine and the ease of accessing it have made it easier for all students to find information and teachers can apply it in class during the teaching and learning process. This is one of the advantages of the thousands of advantages that can be obtained from a touch of technology in the world of education. However, there are still pros and cons regarding this, and of course there are several aspects that must be held so that this technology can be applied in the education system.
The application of technology in the education system certainly has a positive impact and this refers to improving the quality of education, of course. Some of these advantages are efficiency, convenience, easy methods, and an extensive network. Of course this will slightly change the teaching and learning method, but this certainly refers to positive changes and if implemented optimally will give extraordinary results. We can see developed countries implementing this, they are adopting various technologies in their teaching and learning process, and now we can see they can replace the role of experts, architects, and even scientists, even they themselves are still in school and are still very young. This is certainly extraordinary, system support that can help be a factor influencing all of this.
I think everyone will agree on this and choose to implement technology in their education system, because it does not hurt at all and is a very positive change. We certainly cannot continue to use the old ways of teaching and learning, we certainly have to use the latest, more effective ways to gain knowledge, even if it is the same knowledge. In the past, seeking knowledge was not an easy thing, we had to go in and out of libraries, climb bookshelves, and pile up books in our rooms, moreover we bought them with our own savings. But today we can access knowledge from thousands of books by simply opening a Smartphone and Google, and we can do it without even having to move from bed.
Apart from that, in our teaching and learning system, of course, we really need objects or practice tools that are more efficient and technology answers this. Various practices and education can be repeated to students only in class, video playback on YouTube, video tutorials from Google and even now there are many more efficient simulation tools aimed specifically at students and teachers so that their teaching and learning process can be fulfilled well.
The efficiency of the application of technology in the education sector has certainly been proven accurately during the pandemic and lockdown. At times like these we are not allowed to leave the house and must stay inside so we don't get sick, including not being allowed to gather in class and every country dismissing their students for health reasons.
But will the teaching and learning process stop...? Of course not and thankfully we have known technology long before the pandemic. Students have access to take lessons, do assignments, and almost all their activities while studying in class can be helped only with the help of a laptop or smartphone by utilizing applications that support online classes such as Google zoom, Google meet, and so on, and even today there are many applications published to support the online teaching and learning process.
I myself really appreciate this and I consider technology in education a positive thing and a new breakthrough. Everyone certainly agrees on this, and all students who are still in school or college certainly feel the ease and effectiveness of this system. However, of course, in every best case, of course, it cannot be separated from its weaknesses, and the main weakness is cost. Huge costs must of course be spent to support a process like this, that's why there are countries that have not been able to apply a system like this evenly in their country, unlike developed countries like Europe where their country is a rich country and can apply technology in their teaching and learning system in a very fast time and even with the latest technology. Of course this cannot be imitated by every country, even in my own country the application is not evenly distributed and some schools still carry out conventional teaching and learning and in certain circumstances they use the online system for teaching and learning, but at least they can do it in outside of class hours just by holding their Smartphone and I'm grateful for this.
Of course behind all that, the state and its governance really determine the technology and its application in all aspects goes well. Procurement of equipment and supporting aspects such as adequate cellular networks throughout the country, prosperous society, and appropriate policies to support a process like this running smoothly is the contribution of the government. Even though it didn't reach the desired target, at least progress in a better direction is still ongoing and this is very important because gradually we will also become more advanced if we continue to carry out the process and apply it even though it cannot be said to be perfect. Government assistance in procuring technological equipment in schools is also something that supports the sustainability of the teaching and learning system with applied technology, and policies and laws that say that this process has approval and assistance from the government are external aspects for this process to run smoothly.
The point is that talking about the application of technology in education is indeed a very positive thing and everyone agrees on this. And we have seen how a system like this works of course, but our readiness in using technology and external aspects as well as procuring the required tools is also something that must be considered. Even though we are still trying to adopt and apply technology in terms of education and it's still not perfect, it's an intense process that will make everything come true sooner or later.
