Hello hive! I'm really glad to be here - a community of great minds and change makers.
I'm Oscar Amaechi, was born in the eastern part of Nigeria, a native of the eastern part of Nigeria, Imo state precisely, fluent in English and Igbo (my mother tongue) languages.
I graduated from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, which is one of the prestigious universities in Nigeria, with 2nd Class Upper honours in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering. As a Materials and Metallurgical Engineering, I've gained some experience by doing a six months internship in Corrugated Carton Production Company, where I worked in the maintenance section and as a quality assurance and quality control personnel.
Presently I'm an intern in a state ministry of works in my country, Nigeria. Also I've taken several online courses in management, work ethics, engineering, and research writing. I'm greatly interested in making the world a better place, protecting the environment against pollution, conserving natural resources, and this has made me fall in love with the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), specifically those I can truly help achieve as a Materials Engineer and a lover of education, which include:
Goal 4-Quality education
Goal 7- Affordable and Clean Energy
Goal 9- Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
Goal 12-Responsible Consumption and Production
Goal 13- Climate Action.
I'm really interested in research, and was driven by my passion to co-author a research review paper titled "The Role of Literary in Ensuring a Clean and Sustainable Environment", in which I and my partner, proferred solutions to the issue of pollution and depleting natural resources, paying a great deal of attention to Nigeria and India, which are two countries whose situations are worrisome when it comes to plastic pollution. I also led a research team which focused on plastic recycling by reinforcing waste HDPE plastics with natural fibers in order to produce a new useful material (a composite precisely) which can find application in construction, transportation and aerospace industries. I'm glad to be part of this community, and also want to appreciate #onaloemwills for introducing me to this great community of the big minds.
In my free time, I enjoy reading novels, chatting and hanging out with friends, I love critical thinking and this has found expression in the game of chess, which I learned in 2015. Back in my college days, I played against most of the top chess players in my school, securing some wins, drawing some games and losing a few.
To summarize it all, I'm an interesting fellow, easy going and I love making lots of friends.
