Surrounded by darkness
Howls and laughter
Plagues the mind
Light nowhere to be seen
But a broken lightbulb
Hangs above my head
Tried reaching but to no avail
Tip-toed and jumped but
I simply tripped and fall
Falling to a deep mud pit
Flailing but I sink faster
I stopped, took a breath,
Plunged and found the light
